True collaboration towards a common goal often fails in practice for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons is the lack of Synergy & Alignment. We see Alignment & Synergy as the essential principle for the efficient implementation of a plan to achieve success and impact. We have made this principle practical. You can apply it between two persons, teams (project, department), organisations and countries.
For an organisation, Alignment & Synergy will first take place between departments and then with customers and suppliers. When departments see that others are working as hard as they are and sharing the same goal, the intrinsic motivation to support each other and share ideas to improve collaboration will increase.
This change in attitude provides an opportunity to take a closer look at current collaborations, uncover opportunities for Alignment & Synergy and optimise the strengths of all involved. This in turn helps people to focus with passion and joy on higher departmental and organisational performance and impact.
In practice, however, there are a number of challenges to this process. The first challenge is to overcome the fear that someone else will take your idea, your potential job, your new job (....) and so on. Another is the competition between colleagues that managers have often used to encourage better performance. This has led to work attitudes in which, for example, people want to claim victory for their project by being the best, the fastest, etc. This sometimes rigid mindset means that the transformation process may take some time to produce tangible results. But the seed has been planted.
We have seen in recent years that cooperation is the key to further development. Of course, it takes courage to show the weakness of yourself, your project or your department, but team members can support each other to overcome it. This change in attitude creates a winning team that makes a company and an impact that is more than any one person or department can achieve.
Goal
The main objective of this workshop is for participants to increase their intrinsic motivation for Alignment & Synergy so that they can improve themselves and their collaboration with others.
In practical terms, this means that participants will:
- Gain insight into the importance of Alignment & Synergy.
- Get a handle on how to increase intrinsic motivation for Alignment & Synergy.
- Identify current bottlenecks in Alignment & Synergy and then create an action plan to resolve them in the short term.
For whom?
The workshop is aimed at the management team and employees from different departments who are curious about the possibilities of collaborating in a better way.
What you can expect
In the morning we lay the foundation for increasing Alignment & Synergy in your group or organisation. After lunch we discuss the interactions with other teams and in small groups identify elements of the action plan to increase Alignment & Synergy within the organisation and with others (if applicable).
Practical
This workshop lasts one full day plus two half days for follow-up. The workshop is held at a location to be agreed outside your organisation. The number of participants is a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 to ensure the necessary personal attention.
